Snowdon Challenge 2012

On 9th June over 30 people  including Fair Investment Company employees and family members will be treking up England and Wales’ highest mountain Snowdon for charity. The charity money is being raised for is the Bulgarian Partners Trust which working with the Sofia Baptist Church is seeking to finish the construction of an exciting new multipurpose centre in Sofia which will provide food for the hungry, medical care for the sick and training and equal opportunities for the marginalised. To date over £1 million pounds has been raised in helping to get the centre built through a variety of fundraising initiatives.

With approximately £180k still required to finish the centre trustee James Caldwell said ” We are very grateful to friends and supporters of the charity over the years in getting behind our fund raising events and would urge people to help us get over the line in getting this project completed”.

If you would like to sponsor the trek please use the Justgiving website

We did it!

On Saturday we walked up Ben Nevis in the rain and walked back down in the sunshine. Some of us did the whole thing in under 6 hours (apparently pretty good going!). Teams have been built, and, more importantly, money has been raised for two brilliant causes.

We’ve raised more than £7,000 and still have some more sponsorship to come in, which will help to change people’s lives around the world – something we kept thinking about as it rained on us on Saturday, and we struggled to walk up and down stairs on Sunday!

Check out some of the photos from the weekend below…and give generously now that you can see what we went through!

Yet more coverage in the press about our walk, which is coming around very quickly…!

This time it’s from GoOutdoors, the outdoor clothing store. A few of us are still stocking up on last minute equipment that could make or break our climb up Ben Nevis on Saturday, such as the proper wet weather gear – just in case it’s not sunny like we’re all hoping!

You can still donate before we go on, or even after we get back:

Dressed for success

Last week, Fair Investment employee Sevi put on a charity fashion show at The Square, showcasing some of this season’s fashions from local shops and designers.

Huge kudos go to Sevi for arranging such a super event and raising more than £300 towards our Ben Nevis target!

Check out some of the pictures from the evening below, and then donate to the two great causes that we’re supporting – microfinance charity Five Talents and Bethany Children’s Trust, which works to help children at risk around the world.

Baking our way to victory

We’ve been busy at Fair Investment HQ with the baking and eating of cakes - all in the name of charity.

Last week we raised nearly £50 by bringing in some delectible baked goods, and, what’s more, we’re going to be turning them into a recipe book which will be published and sold – all funds going towards our Ben Nevis target of £30,000.

Here’s a sneak preview of what to expect from the book…

Watch this space for information about how to get your hands on this future best-seller…and in the meantime, check out the great causes we’re raising money for: Bethany Children’s Trust and Five Talents.
